Williamson Printing Materials to Remain Open During Coronavirus Shutdowns
(Grimsby, ON) — As the world faces unprecedented disruption caused by the coronavirus, there has been much discussion about supply chains and essential services.
At Williamson Printing Materials Limited, many of our customers are essential to the medical, food and personal care supply chain. We know many of these companies are continuing their production schedules getting necessary products into consumers’ hands. We support this important work.
As such, Williamson Printing Materials Limited remains open for business.
“We are taking responsible action for our customers, staff and community,” explained Rick Schaus, Williamson’s general manager. “We must keep the supply chain for consumer goods moving ahead, while making sure our workers and community stay safe. We have a plan.”
Following Ontario’s Workplace Guidance
Since March 23, we have been following closely the guidance of the Government of Ontario about what constitutes essential services and businesses, including those organizations operating in a supply chain.
Ontario’s guidance specifies: “Businesses that supply other essential businesses or essential services with the support, supplies, systems or services, including processing, packaging, distribution, delivery and maintenance necessary to operate,” should remain open.
The situation continues evolving and Ontario’s guidance is updated regularly. We will continue updating our website about whether Williamson’s status changes. For now, Williamson is open and you may contact us at the numbers below.
Changes at our Grimsby Facility
Williamson’s facility in Grimsby, Ontario continues working at full capacity, although with some changes to our business practices. Specifically, Williamson has implemented:
- Staff members work from home when possible
- No outside visitors to our facility
- Physical distancing
- Enhancing hygiene practices
These measures are important to help keep our employees safe while allowing the business to remain in full operation.
